Each rule is about meaning, never spelling or length. A test is any word, phrase or sentence you want to try. Green means it fits. Red means it misses. Both lights give you evidence.

Once wording has a light for a rule, everyone gets that same light for it. Capitals, extra spaces and a final full stop don't make a new test. A repeat is not a move.

Clues and the sentences for your choices are prepared and checked before release. The maker plays each new rule and reviews flagged problems.

Choose “Try your rule” to pick ten lights. Match at least nine to solve the Round. Your choices decide, not the wording of your written Guess.

Every test with a light and every Clue is 1 move. A Guess that doesn't pass counts 3 moves. A passed Guess, a repeat, a test with no light and the two free sentences are not moves. Fewer moves earn more Stars: 3 or 2 by each rule's own limits, 1 for any other solve or a solve with help, none if you reveal the rule.

A light can be wrong. Tap it and choose “Report this light”. The maker reads every report; a report alone changes no light. Corrections are marked and listed. Finished Results stay as recorded.

If checking is unavailable, you can still finish with prepared evidence or Reveal once connected.
